What Is Vestibular Rehab?

At Healing Arts Physical Therapy, we specialize in vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT)—an exercise-based approach aimed at reducing dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, and fall risk by retraining the inner-ear and brain systems that control balance 

Who Needs Vestibular Therapy?

  • Mechanical vertigo like BPPV

  • Inner ear conditions such as vestibular neuritis or Ménière’s disease

  • Concussion symptoms with dizziness/balance issues

  • Peripheral vestibular hypofunction (partial nerve loss)

  1. Comprehensive Assessment

    • Medical history, symptom review

    • Baseline vitals, posture, gait observation

    • Balance and vestibular-specific tests (e.g. Dix–Hallpike, dynamic balance)

  2. Personalized Treatment Plan

    • Includes VRT exercises, gaze stability training, habituation, and balance re‑education 

  3. Therapeutic Interventions

    • Canalith repositioning for BPPV (Epley, Semont, etc.)

  4. Home Exercise Program

    • Easy-to-follow exercises to continue at home—shown to reduce dizziness and fall risk 

  5. Ongoing Monitoring & Reassessment

    • Adjustable program based on progress and response
